Listening with Land
In the wake of the recent fires in Los Angeles, how can we reconnect to our bodies and the Earth as sources of renewal and guidance? This workshop offers a space to explore that question through somatic movement, sensory awareness, and deep listening.
Together, we’ll rebuild relationships with our inner and outer ecosystems by:
- Engaging in guided somatic inquiries to rediscover the body’s wisdom.
- Connecting with the land of Los Angeles through intuitive movement and presence.
- Sharing our embodied findings in the community to cultivate awareness
This is a space for all bodies to listen, feel, and respond in ways that are unique to you. No prior experience is needed—just curiosity and a willingness to explore.
Grounded in practices like Body-Mind Centering, Silvestre Technique, Authentic Movement, Andean Spirituality, and Traditional Chinese Medicine (Qigong), this workshop honors the connection between your life force and the Earth’s vitality.
Come as you are, and let the land and your body inspire steps toward renewal.

About
Kendra Adler, BMC® SME, is a multidisciplinary artist and somatic movement educator exploring the connection between the Earth and the human body through movement, film, ritual performance, land art, and community workshops. Her improvisational practice engages in a physical dialogue with natural elements, uncovering the complexities of internal and external space. She is the founder and creator of a nature-centric somatic movement practice called Word As Movement. Her continued pursuit of deepening her awareness of the bridge between science and earth intuition, led her to become a certified Body-Mind Centering® Somatic Movement Educator - an integrated and embodied approach to movement, the body and consciousness.
Over the past four years, she has developed Embodying Processes of the Earth: An Empathy-Building Workshop, inviting participants to explore how human and Earth systems mirror one another through embodied experience. She has shared her work internationally, including at the Nuova Atlantide residency in Italy, with geology students at Pomona College, and in her weekly Somatic Basics class at the Philosophical Research Society in Los Angeles. Passionate about embodied practice as creative practice, she has curated community programming such as Portraits of Remembering: Evening of Embodied Films and Story of the Stone: Sensorial Experience, premiering her short film alongside conversations with geologists, Chumash elders, and interdisciplinary artists. Through her work, she cultivates spaces for deep listening, remembrance, and somatic connection to self and Earth.
