About Christopher Nyerges

Nyerges has been teaching self-reliance, survival, and botany since 1974 through various non-profits and his own School of Self-Reliance.  Tens of thousands of students have attended his lectures and classes over the decades. He has authored 27 books, including “Foraging California”,  “How to Survive Anywhere”, and “Urban Survival Guide”. He was editor of Wilderness Way magazine for seven years and editor of American Survival Guide. He has worked as a trainer and vetter for Naked and Afraid and has written thousands of newspaper and magazine articles on the topics of his specialty.

Objective

In this bushcraft skills class, participants will learn the four principles by which fire is made. We will go step by step through the different methods, and you will get to see the diverse ways in which an essential fire can be made. This is a hands-on workshop, so expect to walk away with a proper understanding of this important bushcraft skill.
