JOIN JASON WISE ON A HIKE TO LEARN ABOUT HOW FLORA AND FAUNA ADAPT TO NIGHTTIME.
Jason is a naturalist, environmental advocate, and outdoor educator for kids of all ages. He teaches about plants, ecosystems, geology, and the ecological history of our region in locations like Yosemite, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles.
We'll explore our local environment as the landscape shifts from day to sunset to night, learning about the ways in which both flora and fauna shift along with it. We will learn about bats and other nocturnal creatures through engaging activities, observe Griffith Park's primary bat habitat, and explore the ways in which our own eyes adjust (or don't) to darkness. This is on the night of the new moon so we will really test the night vision of the our eyes us the way on this wide, mostly flat, and very safe Griffith Park trail.
Official meet-up location and further event details to be sent out upon ticket confirmation.
