About Ryan Rankin

Meet Ryan Rankin, the seasoned guide behind the Usal Fish & Game Club. Hailing from coastal Southern California, Ryan's affinity for the ocean and exploration began at a young age through diving, surfing, and immersing himself in the wonders of the sea.

His 15 years of experience have taken him across diverse landscapes, from pursuing Yellowtail Jacks in the ocean depths to tracking White-tailed deer in the wild. Ryan's dedication to filling his freezer with ethically sourced, sustainable food has honed his skills and deepened his understanding of the natural world.

Notably, Ryan's background differs from the traditional hunting guide. Growing up in a non-hunting suburban community, he has faced the challenges of breaking into this unconventional lifestyle. However, his perseverance and passion have shaped him into a knowledgeable and skilled guide who can relate to and inspire others, making the journey into hunting and fishing more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.

Ryan's unique combination of coastal expertise, hunting acumen, and self-reliance serves as the foundation of the Usal Fish & Game Club's transformative experiences. With him as your guide, you'll discover a world of adventure, connection to nature, and the art of sustainable food sourcing.

Objective

For those who have a strong interest in becoming more self-reliant and fostering a closer connection to their food sourcing, we are thrilled to present a new addition to our ecosystem - The Usal Fish and Game Club.

We are creating a supportive community for individuals passionate about sustainable practices and ethical food sourcing in fishing, hunting, foraging, and conservation. We welcome all and aim to break down barriers to make this lifestyle accessible to everyone.

This course series will be structured differently than anything we have done thus far, so before we officially launch this project, we are hosting an introductory dinner at our Outdoor Research Center.

During this event, you'll have the opportunity to meet Ryan Rankin, the guide leading this exciting series, along with experienced fly-fishing guide, Sydney Cortright. They will not only provide a delicious wild-caught dinner but also fill you in on everything you can expect as a member of this course.

We can't wait to share this journey with you and we look forward to meeting you all at the ORC!
