It’s spooky season, so let’s explore Griffith Park in the dark. We’ll learn about and be on the lookout for creatures of the night, like bats, owls, coyotes, spiders, and toads, and learn about the plant life that activates in the dark too. And since it’s October, let’s throw in a few Griffith Park ghost stories as well! For this hike we will avoid using headlamps or any other light source as much as possible, and explore the ways in which our own eyes adjust (or don't) to darkness with a couple of fun games.
